Press Release

Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino is pleased to announce our participation in Art Basel Miami Beach 2019, presenting an exhibition of works by Venezuelan masters Carlos Cruz-Diez, Alejandro Otero, Mercedes Pardo, and Jesús Rafael Soto.

These artists worked between Venezuela and Europe in the mid-twentieth century, pioneering new modes of expression through the visual language of geometric abstraction and kineticism. Creating both two and three dimensional pieces across a variety of media, these visionaries worked in dialogue for decades, each taking a unique approach to the exploration of color, light, and space.

The work of these artists is included in many important collections worldwide, including Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, NY,  Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY, Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH), Houston, TX, Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France, Tate Modern, London, UK, and Fundación Galería de Arte Nacional, Caracas, Venezuela.
