SOUTH SOUTH Film

Human Tides | A video programme presented online and at FNB Art Joburg

1-4 September 2022

SOUTH SOUTH is pleased to announce its second collaboration with an art fair in the Global South, with the presentation of a video programme titled Human Tides, to take place both online and at FNB Art Joburg in Johannesburg. The programme features the work of 17 artists primarily from Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and the Diaspora, and explores the scope of human and cultural influence over the course of various ecosystems, considering absence and amassing, myth-making and mythology. This programme, following on from our collaboration with SP–ARTE in São Paulo earlier this year, will form part of FNB Art Joburg's ORG section, which looks to redefine how people engage with organisations that were established for the good of the public. From 1-4 September 2022, it will also be available online on our platform for those who will not be in Johannesburg for the fair, as well as for those who would like to explore it in depth outside the fair.
