The exhibition Fotoformas e Sobras presents Geraldo de Barros' photographic work at Fundação Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva in Lisbon.
Organized by Michel Favre and part of the programme Passado e Presente – Lisboa, Capital Ibero-americana de Cultura 2017, the show gathers important works from the Arquivo Geraldo de Barros held in Geneva. The two series of works presented in the exhibition – Fotoformas, initiated in 1946, and Sobras, made in the 90's was the artist's last production– are undoubtedly the most representative sample of Geraldo de Barros' distinct abstract approach to photography and were produced in periods of the artist's career when photography was his main concern.
The show runs until September 17.
