Sicardi Gallery is pleased to announce a lecture given by Maria Fernanda Cardoso at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. Cardosa is a featured speaker during DDCA Symposium: The Outstanding Field: Artistic Research Emerging from the Academy.The symposium showcases the most innovative PhD projects to have emerged from the Creative Arts in Australia and New Zealand over the past decade.
Cardoso's presentation explores the diversity and complexity of animal genitalia, while providing a new and original understanding of the communicative possibilities of museums. Cardoso employs original images and objects which stand on their own as artworks, and communicate complex scientific concepts.
